After alcohol, tobacco and marijuana, this narcotic becomes one of the substances most consumed by people in Colombia.

In the course of a coordinated and inter-institutional operation conducted by the National Army, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, in the municipality of Solita, department of Caquetá, through a house search operation, 42 packages wrapped in plastic were found by troops. In total, 86 kilograms of this illicit substance were found by troops.

As a result of the operation, an individual, alias Recuerdo, was arrested. He was put into custody of the authorities and subsequently, a judge issued a measure of arrest in prison center for the crime of trafficking, manufacture or carrying of narcotics in the municipality of Florencia. The arrested individual, apparently, was part of the support network for the residual structures of the finance group of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, structure 1, E-1, Carolina Ramírez, led by alias Danilo Alvizú, the main ringleader of the organization.

According to information obtained by military intelligence, the arrested individual was one of the men in charge of collecting money from drug trafficking and extortion assist people of the municipalities of Solita, Curillo and Valparaiso in the department of Caquetá. The coca paste base was transferred to the municipality of Florencia and put into custody of the Attorney General's Office. With this result, the drug and micro-trafficking chains will be considerably hit, as well as the finances of the GAO-r E-1 Carolina Ramírez, generating in it a loss of approximately 205 million COP.
