Bolivar. After tomorrow until July 27, the Heroic city of Colombia is adorned with Naval events of international importance, thanks to the projection of the National Navy of Colombia, which leads four of the most important seafaring activities of this 2018, in the country.
Tomorrow all Colombia will have the opportunity to appreciate the arrival of the most imposing sailboats in the world in the bay of Cartagena, who participate in the Velas Latinoam茅rica regatta, which integrates the countries and the Navies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia , United States, Honduras, Mexico, Portugal and Peru. This is an experience to know navies and culture exchange, which are the most valuable reasons to go to enjoy the majesty that the SAIL "Cartagena de Indias 2018".
The Port Society, the dock of La Bodeguita and Edurbe, will open their doors so that those who want to visit the sailboats and ships participating in the SAIL, enter for free and share a magical experience of cultural exchange.
On the other hand, from July 23 to July 26, the National Navy of Colombia will receive the Commanders of the Navies of the Americas, who will participate in the Inter-American Naval Conference, 2018, at the facilities of the Cartagena de Indias Convention Center. There they will have the opportunity to highlight the issues in naval matters of the American countries at a strategic and operational level, in order to update and integrate the efforts for the strengthening of the maritime security and sovereignty of the continent and the preparation of these naval forces to face and prevent risks and natural disasters.
In the same way, the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the ARC ship "Gloria" will be another event that will fill the city of Cartagena de Indias with national pride, since our Colombian culture and traditions have been carried around the world, thanks to the miles sailed for half a century by the sailors who have manned with gallantry this flagship vessel of the National Navy of Colombia which has become an international reference of discipline and naval honor.
Finally, the 195th Anniversary of the National Navy will be celebrated on July 24, date on which the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo is commemorated. In this battel Colombia sealed its independence, thanks to the brave seamen, led by Admiral Jos茅 Padilla L贸pez, maximum naval hero of our country.
