Through this finding, more than 15 million dollars were prevented from entering the finances of drug trafficking structures.
In an operation coordinated with the National Police, Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy found 456 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, hidden in a sailboat that was in the anchoring area of the Yacht Club of Cartagena.
Thanks to the control and surveillance efforts carried out by members of the Naval Institution and the National Police in the city of Cartagena, against criminal organizations at the service of drug trafficking that commit crimes in the region, the possible contamination with drugs of an international flag sailing ship that was anchored in the bay of this important city of the Caribbean was detected.
Once the boat was found, it was taken to the dock of the Coast Guard Station of Cartagena, where experts conducted the search, detecting a double bottom with packages inside, similar to those used for drug trafficking, so they were disembarked and taken to the facilities of the Anti-Narcotics Police of Cartagena, where Judicial Police officers conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH, which determined that it was 452 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The illegal merchandise and the immobilized ship, were put into custody of the authorities. By means of this finding, more than 15 million dollars are denied to the drug trafficking structures that, with their criminal operations, disturb the security and tranquility in the maritime communication lines of this region of the country. No arrests were made during the operation.
