Within the framework of joint operations of the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army, with intelligence supplied by the Colombian Air Force, four laboratories for the production of coca base paste were found by troops and destroyed, in a rural area of the municipality of Timbiquí, department of Cauca.
The structures were found by troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.42 of the Colombian Navy and Infantry Battalion No.56 of the Army, during searches and patrols in the village Bubuey, of Timbiquí. Inside these laboratories, 2,210 gallons of liquid supplies and 180 kilograms of solid supplies for the production of the base paste were found by troops; these elements were destroyed at the place of finding.
According to preliminary information, it is presumed that these structures would belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group E30 Rafael Aguilera. Through these operations, the illegal activities of this criminal armed group, which commits crimes in this region, are significantly beaten and weakened.
