In Cauca, Colombian National Army dismantles a laboratory that produced more than a ton of cocaine a month

En Cauca, Ejército Nacional desmantela un laboratorio que producía más de una tonelada de cocaína al mes

The residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Carlos Patiño Structure will stop receiving more than 4,133 million pesos per month from drug trafficking, thanks to the disabling of a laboratory in the department of Cauca.

Thanks to a military operation carried out by troops of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats (CONAT) in the village of La Senda Mayines, municipality of El Tambo, Cauca, a laboratory for the production of cocaine hydrochloride with a capacity exceeding one ton per month was disabled.

This illegal complex would belong to the residual GAO Carlos Patiño Structure, which, in association with Sinaloa and Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartels, sent the narcotic to the United States, where its commercial value can be multiplied up to 35 times compared to the price in Colombia.

Through this result, the criminal economy of this organization is significantly impacted, which will stop receiving more than 4133 million pesos monthly.

In the place, the troops found 176 gallons of liquid supplies, 70 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and different elements used in the production of narcotics, including rudimentary distillers.

During the year 2025, the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats has reported the finding of 154 laboratories specialized in the production of illicit drugs, as well as the finding of 14,253 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 19,327 gallons of base paste in process.
