The military operation affected the illicit activities of the GAO-r Structura Primera Armando Ríos, with an estimated loss of more than 756 million pesos.
Within the framework of military operations in the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops of the Rainforest Battalion N.° 52, of the Rainforest Brigade N.° 31, found and destroyed a laboratory used for the production of cocaine base paste in the Bacati village, municipality of Caruru, department of Vaupés, an area with interference of the GAO-r Structura Primera Armando Ríos.
During the military operation, a rustic structure equipped with the necessary elements for the production of the alkaloid was destroyed. 500 gallons of coca base paste, 600 gallons of DIESEL petroleum, 780 gallons of gasoline, 4 gallons of hydrochloric acid, 660 kilograms of coca leaf in different stages of production, 350 kilograms of solid precursors, three distillation systems, a press, a motor pump, a leaf chopper with a motor, storage tanks, barrels, hoses, tools and other elements used in the narcotics production chain were found by troops at the site.
According to the information collected, this laboratory had the capacity to produce 300 and 400 kilograms of cocaine base paste every three months, which retained an important source of financing for this criminal structure. Through this result, an economic loss of close to 756 million pesos was possible, significantly weakening its logistical and financial resources.
