Within the framework of the Conference of the Heads of the World Air Forces, held in England, the annual meeting of the Gripen User Group, GUG, was held at the Thai Embassy. During this meeting, the Memorandum of Understanding by the Air Forces using the Gripen J-39 aircraft was signed, in which the Colombian Aerospace Force is incorporated as an active member of this important group.
This agreement, signed by the GUG member countries: Czech Republic, Hungary, South Africa, Sweden, Thailand, Brazil and now Colombia, aims to strengthen cooperation conducted by the operating countries, as well as the exchange of information on the military, technical and logistical operation to maximize the use of this capacity. In the same way, it facilitates the exchange of experiences, better activities and lessons learned, contributing to the increase of efficiency and interoperability by the users of this aerial platform.
The incorporation of the Colombian Aerospace Force into the Gripen User Group represents a significant step in strengthening the country's strategic resources, in the same way enabling the consolidation of cooperation relations with allied nations for the benefit of security, defense and the fulfillment of the institutional mission.
