With the purpose of exchanging experiences, good practices, sharing approaches on the problems and challenges faced by Colombia and Argentina in the fight against the world drug problem and its associated criminal activities, the VII Joint Drug Group was established by the two countries.
Within the framework of this multisectoral dialogue environment, the interventions of the different delegates of the institutions working to combat this problem, presented the scopes, challenges of the policies, plans and operations implemented to neutralize all activities related to this phenomenon and its mutations in the region.
On the part of the Colombian Aerospace Force, Colonel Jos茅 Alejandro Moreno Trivi帽o, Director of the Air and Missile Defense Directorate, spoke about the progress of the multinational ZEUS air interception strategy, highlighting the strengthening of resources, and the significant achievements through the interception exercises carried out by the countries, the subscription of international instruments and the real-time operations, for the distribution of information and detection of illegal aircraft.
In the same way, he emphasized the importance of instruction, training and contributory operations for sustainable development and environmental protection, which are focused on the reforestation by the communities themselves, the detections of unreported runways, to prevent the use of aeronautical constructions for illicit purposes within natural parks.
Finally, this bilateral dialogue led to strengthening cooperation ties based on the principles of mutual benefit and reciprocity, to coordinate activities aimed at integrating resources and strengthening mechanisms that weaken the offer and demand of this global problem.
