In response to the emergency due to the intense rains that caused the overflow of several streams in the municipality of Melgar, the Air Combat Command No. 4 of the Colombian Aerospace Force deploys its resources to support the inhabitants.
In coordination with the departmental and municipal authorities, as well as with the risk management agencies, works are held focused on damage assessment, accompanying communities and supporting recovery efforts in the damaged sectors.
The rainfall reported during the early morning generated floods in different neighborhoods of the municipality, causing damage to houses, roads and establishments. Faced with this scenario, the care protocols were activated, enabling a coordinated response in the territory.
While the recovery tasks are progressing, the local authorities are constantly on permanent surveillance of the municipality's water sources due to the persistence of the rains, in order to issue early warnings about possible new surges.
