In compliance with its commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection, the Colombian Aerospace Force, through the strategic transport of its aircraft, continues to work in coordination with the Amazonas Sin Límites Foundation supporting the transport of post-consumer material.
The use of the aircraft of the Military Air Transport Command, CATAM, Boeing 767 of the Colombian Aerospace Force was vital for the transport of 7,000 kilograms of post–consumer material, as part of the social project The Jaguar - Creating Opportunities. This important cargo, consisting of cardboard, plastic, paper and other recyclable elements, was taken from the department of Amazonas to the capital city of the country with the aim of increasing its proper use, recycling and final disposal in accordance with environmental guidelines.
It should be noted that, so far this year, more than 19,000 kilograms of port-consumer material have already been transported, significantly contributing to the economy and the strengthening of sustainable processes in the region.
The El Jaguar project seeks not only to mitigate the environmental impact through the proper management of solid waste, but in the same way to generate formal employment in the region through recycling and dignifying the work of professional recyclers, promoting their inclusion and recognition as key actors in the chain of use.
Through this operation, the Colombian Aerospace Force ratifies its mission with the extreme south of the country to actively contribute to the social and environmental progress of the country, coordinating logistical resources and military operations for the benefit of the most remote communities and the preservation of the nation's strategic ecosystems.
