The Colombian Air Force helps to extinguish the forest fire that occurs in the rural area of the municipality of Macanal, due to the complexity of the terrain in a mountainous area and difficult access in the department of Boyacá.
This mission is carried out with a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter of the Air Combat Command No. 5, supporting relief agencies, who on the ground try to put an end to the flames that have already consumed more than 20 hectares.
With the Bambi Bucket equipment, 4 water drops with 2,640 gallons of water and retardant liquid have been carried out on the conflagration, which threatens a natural reserve in this department.
