In order to support the inhabitants of the department of Vaupés, the Colombian Air Force transported donations from Bogotá to Mitú, complying with all biosecurity protocols that are maintained to mitigate the health crisis caused by COVID-19.

At 6:00 in the morning took off from the Air Command of Military Transport (CATAM) a Hercules C-130 aircraft with 13 tons of elements such as clothing, footwear, toys and accessories, among others, that will benefit the most vulnerable families in the Alto Vaupés area.

These grants were managed by the National Government in coordination with the Department for Social Prosperity (DPS) and the National Tax and Customs Directorate of Colombia (DIAN) as part of the State's operations.

"It was necessary that this load reach the department to be able to solve some needs of the children and older adults", said the Governor of Vaupés, Eliecer Pérez Galvis.

In this way, the Colombian Air Force has provide its aircraft, crews, soldiers and civilian personnel to carry out efficiently and effectively the transport of these aids, keeping the commitment to mitigate different needs of these people, who, with their words full of affection and spontaneity, thanked the Colombian Air Force for its presence in this remote region of the country.
