For the third consecutive time, the Colombian Air Force is participating in the renowned international exercise Red Flag Rescue, one of the most demanding in the world whose objective is to strengthen the resources of the crews to save lives in rescue operations, using A-29 Supertucano aircraft and the AH-60 Arpía helicopter. The Colombian air force is the only Latin American Air Force participating in this exercise in which Italy, Germany, Finland, Ireland participate, including Saudi Arabia as observer country. The operation will be held until May 19, 2023, at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, in Tucson, Arizona.

During the first missions of Red Flag Rescue 2023, the Colombian delegation, made up of A-29 crews, stood out for successfully leading the combined force air component of the participating countries in the search and rescue mission during the inaugural activity. In the same way, the crew of the Arpía helicopter completed its first operation as a rescue escort in an international exercise. In total, the Colombian Air Force has completed 36 hours of flight training.

The participation in this exercise was carried out thanks to the excellent operational conductance of the Institution in the previous two versions, coupled with this, a complete training in our country with United States pilots, in addition to putting into practice the ability to deploy such aircraft through Central America and the Caribbean to transport personnel and equipment from Colombia to Arizona, in the United States.

In this way, the Colombian Air Force continues to strengthen its operational resources to save lives and leave the best image of the country in the most important training operation in the world.
