Alias Andrés committed crimes in the municipalities of Alejandría, Concepción, Santo Domingo, San Carlos, San Rafael and San Roque, in the department of Antioquia.
In the last few hours, soldiers of the Combat Engineer Battalion No. 4, of the Fourth Brigade, in coordination with the SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) of the National Police, arrested alias Andrés, an alleged member of the Pacificadores de Samaná substructure of the organized armed group Cartel of the GAO Clan del Golfo.
The operation took place in the village of La Comba, in the municipality of Santo Domingo, department of Antioquia. According to the investigations, this individual was the financial coordinator of the substructure and would be responsible for the collection of money extorted and collected from merchants, miners and other inhabitants of the region. During the procedure, 45 cartridges, three cell phones, one million pesos in cash, a motorcycle, military garments and items alluding to the GAO Clan del Golfo, items that were put into custody of the authorities.
The arrested, a native of the municipality of Argelia, department of Antioquia, reports a judicial record for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying firearms in 2023 and a note for the crime of reception of unlawful items in 2020.Through this result of the military operation, the financial structure of the Pacificadores de Samaná substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo is directly affected, by neutralizing one of its main economic managers in the region. In the same way, their ability to obtain illicit resources through extortion is weakened and the intimidation factors that this organization exerted on the inhabitants are reduced.
