As part of the actions in defense of the environment, troops of the Twenty-Seventh Brigade found and destroyed in controlled conditions a unit used for illegal mining, which apparently belonged to the armed group Carolina Ramirez Structure.
Within the framework of the Amazon line of the Ayacucho Plus Plan and within the framework of military operations, troops of the Rainforest Infantry Battalion No. 49 found and destroyed an illegal mining production unit in a rural area of the Putumayo department.
The operation was carried out in the village of Las Delicias, in the municipality of Puerto Leguizamo, where elements arranged for the illicit extraction of minerals were found by troops, which, apparently, would belong to the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Carolina Ramirez Structure.
During the intervention, the elements used for this illegal activity were destroyed on the place, including a mining production unit, a dredge, two engines, 40 meters of hose, two meters of PVC pipe, three meters of copper pipe, a hammock and ten barrels of different dimensions.
Through this result of the military operation, the Twenty-Seventh Brigade continues to weaken the illegal activities of organized armed groups, contributing to the protection of the environment and preventing the illegal exploitation of natural resources in this region of the country.
