Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan of Colombian National Army, troops of the Mechanized Cavalry Group N.° 10 Tequendama, of the 13th Brigade of the Army, in coordination with the Brigade Against the Illicit Exploitation of Mining deposits, the Carabineros Directorate of the National Police and the Regional Autonomous Corporation, dealt a powerful blow to the illicit finances of organized crime groups.
The interagency intervention carried out in the village of Páramo Rabanal, in the municipality of Lenguazaque, reported the finding of two mining production units, valued at 111,250,000 pesos, as well as the arrest of 8 people who were in the place.
The construction had an estimated production of 420 tons of mineral coal per month, with a price of 223,794,900 pesos; this military operation directly hits illegal activities.
In the same way, the environmental loss caused to the natural resources and ecosystems of the area was stopped, evidenced in deforestation and water, air and soil pollution, which will take approximately 30 years to recover.
