Colombian army destroyed a laboratory with the capacity to produce a ton of cocaine hydrochloride per month in Vichada

Ejército destruyó un laboratorio

The laboratory had the capacity to produce about one ton per month that would represent in the illicit activities of the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Substructure 39 Arcesio Niño income exceeding 500 million pesos.

Within the framework of the Strategic Plan Ayacucho Plus, the Twenty-Eighth Brigade, within the framework of military operations, aimed at weakening the resources of the threats, through the Ground Operations Battalion N.° 28, and jointly with the Colombian Aerospace Force, reports the finding and destruction of a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory, which had the capacity to produce about a ton of this narcotic per month.

The operation was carried out in Puerto Príncipe, in a rural area of the municipality of Cumaribo, department of Vichada, the place where the troops arrived. In the place were found by troops 550 gallons of gasoline, 330 gallons of DIESEL, chemicals, microwave ovens, power generators, distillation tower compressors, scythes and plastic tanks, among other elements necessary for the obtention of alkaloids.

The loss suffered by the GAO-r Substructure 39 Arcesio Niño is estimated at more than 3000 million pesos. The drug trafficking chain is the main source of financing for these criminal groups, since with the money obtained of the marketing of coca base paste and cocaine hydrochloride they obtain weapons, explosives and other war elements with which they carry out terrorist acts against the inhabitants and the Military Forces.

Through these acts, Colombian National Army, in compliance with its constitutional mission, reiterates its commitment to the security, tranquility and well-being of Colombians, working in coordination with other State institutions to ensure peace and stability in the national territory.
