Thanks to military intelligence information, it was possible to prevent the multiple explosive devices from killing the inhabitants of the area and the Military Forces.
Soldiers of the Infantry Battalion N.18 Coronel Jaime Rooke, of the Sixth Brigade, reported the elimination of terrorist acts after the controlled destruction of multiple explosive devices in the village El Real, of the municipality Rovira, apparently planted by the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc, Joaquín González Structure.
There are 43 improvised explosive devices that would be activated to attack the Military Forces in the area to hit the tranquility of the inhabitants of the southwest of Tolima. It was thus that, thanks to the expertise of the trained anti-explosive dog and with the information of military intelligence, they were found by troops and later, after cordoning off the place, their destruction was carried out.
The Sixth Brigade rejects the elaboration and manufacture of these explosive devices with which it was planned to attack the life of the inhabitants, so the respective denunciations will be filed to the national and international organizations defending human rights about these cowardly acts and reiterates the commitment of the troops of this unit to ensure 24/7 for the protection of Colombians.
