With great success, the General Command of the Military Forces held the First Training Symposium, aimed at defense sector personnel working in international affairs, with the aim of updating knowledge and analyzing the new global dynamics and contemporary challenges.
Major General Juan Carlos Correa Consuegra, Deputy Chief of Staff for Joint Operations, who presided over the opening of the symposium, highlighted the importance of specialists in international defense relations and invited them to be at the forefront in their field.
The symposium was attended by experts on global issues from various institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, the General Command of the Military Forces, Colombian National Army, the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Aerospace Force, the National Police, the Superior War College, the University of the Andes, the University of Rosario and the Military University Nueva Granada.
The presentations addressed relevant topics such as the immunity and privileges of accredited attachés in Colombia, global tensions and nuclear powers, the geopolitics of transnational organized crime, the future of Colombian foreign policy, strategic intelligence in the era of the competition among great powers, and the new challenges of international security.
This initiative not only led to updating key concepts in the face of global challenges, but in the same way reaffirmed the institutional commitment to continuous training, inter-institutional cooperation and preparation for geopolitical challenges that impact national security and defense.
