Troops are ready to reinforce security, especially in the municipality of Ataco, to attack the illegal activities derived from this illegal exploitation of mining deposits.
The commander of the Sixth Brigade, Colonel Arnold Esneider Pérez Linares, together with the director of Carabineros and Environmental Protection, Brigadier General Carlos Germán Oviedo, are already preparing for the implementation of the strategies to attack the illegal mining exploitation that occurs in the municipality of Ataco, according to the directive of the Minister of National Defense.
In this way, what will be the technical meeting where the entire intervention plan will be executed to counteract illegal activities and environmental loss derived from open-pit gold mining is already being finalized.
In the sector there is already the deployment of troops to take control of the entry and exit of yellow machinery in the area, in addition to the reinforcement that is already in strategic points to carry out this intervention. For its part, the National Police, in the coming days, will deploy the personnel that will enter to reinforce the carabineros team.
It should be noted that there is an environmental damage that has grown due to the activity of the organized armed group Frente Ismael Ruiz, a structure at the service of alias Chapolo, in charge of buying gold from people, mostly from other departments that have been carrying out illegal exploitation in the Ata and Saldaña rivers that surround the municipality of Ataco.
