Colombian National Army and the Prosecutor's Office deal a powerful blow to drug trafficking in Bogotá

Ejército Nacional y Fiscalía asestan contundente golpe al narcotráfico en Bogotá

Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Plan of Colombian National Army, troops of the Cundinamarca Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Thirteenth Brigade, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, and through military intelligence information, carried out a ground interception operation and search for vehicle in the Antonio Nariño locality of Bogotá.

During the operation, supported by a trained dog, it was detected that the vehicle was transporting export heavy machinery that concealed 418 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride inside, which were planned to be sent to Europe. The commercial price of the drug amounts to more than 8,830 million Colombian pesos, which significantly hits the finances of a transnational organized crime network specializing in drug trafficking.

As part of the operation, it was possible to arrest the driver of the vehicle in flagrante delicto, who was allegedly a member of this criminal structure.

The arrested individual and the material found were put into custody of the investigative group against Drug Trafficking of the CTI, to continue with the corresponding prosecution process.
