During the military operation it was possible to confiscate five long weapons, three short weapons, 588 cartridges of different calibers, 20 magazines and two grenades for drone, which represents a strategic blow against a structure at the service of alias Ivan Mordisco. These elements, apparently, would be used to attack the inhabitants and the Military Forces in this region of the country.
Joint, coordinated and inter-institutional military operations carried out by troops of the Third Brigade of Colombian National Army led to the arrest of five alleged members of the residual structure of the Jaime Martínez organized armed group (GAO-r) in the village of El Queremal, rural area of Dagua, department of Valle de Cauca.
After several months of military intelligence work, the operation was carried out with a judicial search warrant and units of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Valle, the Mountain Battalion nº 3 and in coordination with the Investigative Group Against Criminal Organizations (GICOC) of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office arrested three women and two men, who would be linked to this organized armed group.
According to the preliminary information, these individuals are allegedly responsible for carrying out acts of extortion, installing illegal checkpoints and carrying out pressure and intimidation activities, generating fear among the inhabitants and damaging the tranquility of the people in the region.
During the military operation, five long weapons, three short weapons, 588 cartridges of different calibers, 20 magazines, two drone grenades, a fragmentation grenade, four USB sticks, eight cell phones and elements alluding to this armed group were seized.
This war elements, which would be used to execute attacks in the region against the inhabitants and the Military Forces, were put into custody of the authorities for their respective judicial process.
