This individual would be a member of the security scheme of alias Caliche, the main ringleader of the Ever Castro structure of the Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc of the FARC-EP dissidents.
Within the framework of sustained military operations and thanks to differential intelligence resources of the Seventh Brigade, the Omega Task Force of Colombian National Army, through the Rapid Deployment Force No. 1, reported the arrest of alias Cristian, included in the most wanted list of the department of Meta by the Ministry of National Defense.
The operation, framed in the Ayacucho Plus Operations Plan, was executed in the urban area of La Julia, municipality of La Uribe, department of Meta, through a coordinated action conducted by the Light Infantry Battalion nº 29, the Rapid Deployment Battalion nº 2 and the National Police. The arrest was made in compliance with a current judicial order for the crimes of aggravated homicide, association to commit crimes, trafficking, manufacture or carrying of firearms and ammunition, as well as use of explosives for the exclusive use of the Military Forces.
According to military intelligence information, alias Cristian carried out terrorist acts against human rights defenders, peace signatories and their families, which positioned him as a relevant actor within this criminal structure and a priority objective of the authorities.
During the procedure, the arrested tried to evade the action of the troops, engaging a fight that resulted in a shot that wounded him in the left leg. Immediately, he received assistance from combat nurses and was evacuated under strict medical protocols to the city of Villavicencio with the support of the Colombian Aerospace Force, where he receives specialized care. In parallel, the corresponding judicial processes are progressing.
Through this result, the Omega Task Force deals a significant blow to the criminal structures that commit crimes in the southeast of the country, reaffirming its commitment to security, the protection of the inhabitants and the stability of the national territory.
