In the framework of military operations and as a result of an inter-institutional work, Colombian National Army, in coordination with the SIJIN of the National Police, reported the arrest by judicial order of three alleged members of the armed component of the residual organized armed group Substructure Hernando González Acosta, who were considered direct generators of risk to regional security.
Through the simultaneous execution of three search procedures in the municipality of La Plata, department of Huila, the arrest of alias Pinzas, third ringleader chain of command of the said substructure and responsible for heading the pseudo-political subsystem, was carried out. This individual coordinated political-organizational acts, territorial control and illegal support networks, as well as the pressure, the intimidation and the constraint activities against the inhabitants.
For this individual, the Minister of Defense had announced a reward of up to 100 million pesos.
In the same procedure, alias Cacique was arrested, who claimed to hold a position of indigenous authority under the figure of sheriff, a position that had been illegally used to facilitate the concealment of the main ringleader of the organization, improperly taking advantage of territorial autonomy and social commitments for his cover-up.
This individual is in the same way accused of being a co-participant in the kidnapping of nine miners, rescued alive in La Plata, by facilitating protection, mobility and concealment, even supplying traditional clothing to evade the action of the Military Forces.
In the same way, alias the Mototaxista was arrested, who used his daily activity as a motorcycle taxi driver to conduct logistics, transport and criminal intelligence functions at the service of the criminal structure. He is accused of being a co-participant in the intelligence and coordination work of the terrorist attack by motorcycle bomb that occurred in the urban area of La Plata, as well as co-mastermind of the homicide of patrolwoman Karen Estefany Pajoy Candela, reported in December. In addition, he was responsible for the supply, mobility and transfer of members of the armed group, becoming a key element of the criminal logistics component.
These individuals are accused of participating in selective homicides, kidnappings, forced displacements, extortion, illegal firearms trafficking and the installation of improvised explosive devices in the urban area of the municipality of La Plata, which shows their high level of dangerousness and their ability to seriously hit the inhabitants and the Military Forces.
During the military operation, two 7 mm caliber pistols, a 38 mm caliber revolver and a motorcycle reported stolen were seized.
The arrest of these three individuals represents a powerful and structural blow against the illegal armed organization, significantly weakening its command and control, support networks, logistical capacity and territorial permanence, contributing directly to the strengthening of security, coexistence and tranquility of the inhabitants of the municipality of La Plata, department of Huila.
