In the framework of military operations carried out within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, National Army troops arrested two alleged members of the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz Structure, including Cristian Ipia Ipia, alias Pirulo, identified as the third ringleader of said criminal organization.
This military operation was reported in the village of El Palo, on the road that connects the municipalities of Caloto and Corinto, department of Cauca, where military units were executing a tactical checkpoint as part of operations, and the arrest of the two individuals without any losses to the inhabitants.
During the procedure, two AK-47 rifles, a pistol, magazines for short- and long-range weaponry, as well as communications equipment were found by troops, elements that were put into custody of the authority along with those arrested for the corresponding judicial processes.
According to military intelligence information, alias Pirulo had approximately nine years of experience within the Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz criminal structure, where he began as a base guerrilla and later rose to squad ringleader and group ringleader, a role he was exercising at the time of his arrest, with direct interference in the coordination of armed, logistical, drug trafficking and territorial control activities.
This individual would be responsible for energizing the criminal acts of his group in municipalities such as Santander de Quilichao, Corinto, Caloto and Toribío, facilitating the trafficking of war items and military accessories, as well as the control of strategic mobility routes used for activities associated with drug trafficking, generating constant pressure and intimidation on the rural communities of these areas.
By June and October 2025, the authorities reported multiple armed acts linked to the group under his command, related to criminal intelligence work, illegal surveillance of the Military Forces, armed displacements, the use of drones for criminal purposes and the structuring of terrorist acts against the troops, events that caused anxiety, restrictions on mobility and fear among the inhabitants of the north and east of the department of Cauca.
These acts demonstrate the role of alias Pirulo as one of the main responsible for illegal armed control in the region, using intimidation and violence to sustain the activity of the criminal structure and hinder the military operations carried out by the Military Forces.
Through this result, Colombian National Army continues to powerfully hit the command and control structure of GAO-r Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz, weakening its military operations resources and reducing its room for maneuver in the southwest of the country.
