It is a powerful blow to the illegal activities of the residual organized armed group Comandos de Frontera. The drug, which was transported hidden inside tires to evade the operations of the authorities, would be used to strengthen the criminal finances of this illegal structure that commits crimes in the region.
As part of military operations aimed at weakening the illegal activities of the residual organized armed groups, troops of the Twelfth Brigade of the National Army reported the arrest in flagrante delicto an alleged member of the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Comandos de Frontera, in the rural area of the municipality of Belén de los Andaquíes, department of Caquetá.
During the procedure, an individual was arrested, who would be a member of this criminal structure. At the time of carrying out the corresponding check, the troops found 80 kilograms of coca base paste hidden inside several tires, a modality used to try to evade the operations of the authorities and facilitate the transportation of the narcotic.
This important result of the military operation manages to directly hit the illicit finances of this illegal armed group, which resorts to drug trafficking as one of its main sources of financing to sustain its criminal activities.
The arrested person must answer for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics, seen in article 376 of the Colombian Criminal Code. Both the arrested and the found elements were put into custody of the authorities to conduct the respective urgent acts and the corresponding judicial process.
Through this result, the Twelfth Brigade of Colombian National Army ratifies its commitment to continue carrying out sustained military operations that neutralize the logistical and financial resources of the residual organized armed groups that commit crimes in the department of Caquetá, contributing to the security, stability and tranquility of the communities.
