These individuals would be responsible for the homicide of a citizen, so the troops conducted a security operation, which added to military intelligence work, made it possible to apprehend them.
Within the framework of the Campaign Plan of the Ayacucho Plus military operation and the Operation ODIN, troops attached to the Third Brigade of Colombian National Army, reported arrests in flagrante delicto of three individuals allegedly members of the residual organized armed group (GAO-r), Structure 57, in the village of Chocosito, municipality of Florida, department of Valle de Cauca.
The military operation was carried out by units of the Military Engineer Battalion No. Codazzi, who, after receiving intelligence information about the movement of those allegedly responsible for the murder of a citizen, an event that occurred minutes earlier in the sector, initiated a pursuit and reconnaissance maneuver that led to neutralizing their escape attempt and materializing their arrest.
During the military procedure, the following items were found by troops: 40 9 mm caliber cartridges, a 9 mm caliber pistol, a metal magazine, two communication radios, two pentoflex (explosive) rods, military accessory material with prints alluding to the GAO-r E-57 and a motorcycle belonging to the homicide victim.
These results directly disturb the logistical and criminal structures of the GAO-r E-57 that commits crimes in the south of the Valle del Cauca, and evidence the effectiveness of the coordinated work conducted by military intelligence, field patrols and tactical operations that seek to protect the inhabitants.
The arrested people and the material were put into custody of the authorities for their respective judicial process.
