In the framework of the military operations carried out to counter the acts of the organized armed groups, department of Norte de Santander, troops of the Infantry Battalion N° 15 General Francisco de Paula Santander, of the Thirtieth Brigade, reported arrests of four alleged members of the organized armed group, GAO, ELN.
The operation was carried out by installing a checkpoint at kilometer 31 of the road that connects Ocaña with Cúcuta, in the sector known as La Estancia. This military action was carried out in coordination with the Traffic and Transport Section of the National Police, carrying out work of review and control.
Four individuals were arrested at the checkpoint and a vehicle, a submachinegun, a pistol and two Roni-type kits were seized; accessories that manage to adapt handguns to increase their military operations capacity.
Those arrested and the items found were put into custody of the authorities to conduct the corresponding judicial processes.
The Thirtieth Brigade is constant in its commitment to the department of Norte de Santander, carries out coordinated military operations that weaken the criminal structures that commit crimes in the region, protecting the inhabitants and contributing to the security and stability of the department.
