Alias Templete, accused of being part of the armed component of the illegal structure, would be allegedly involved in selective homicides, attacks against the Military Forces and other violent events that occurred in Cartagena del Chairá.
In the framework of decisive action operations aimed at weakening the criminal resources of the residual organized armed groups that commit crimes in the south of the country, troops of the Infantry Battalion No. 35 Heroes del Guepi of the Twelfth Brigade of Colombian National Army, reported the arrest by judicial order of an alleged member of the residual GAO Rodrigo Cadete Structure, in the department of Caquetá.
The military operation was carried out in the village of La Guadalosa, in the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, where, thanks to the coordinated work of military intelligence and the investigative work carried out by the judicial authorities, alias Templete, an alleged member of the armed component of this illegal structure, was arrested.
According to the investigations carried out by the authorities, alias Templete, 20 years old, would be accused of being a member of the RAEr component and alleged second ringleader of the hitmen structure of the criminal organization, under the orders of alias La Morocha, group ringleader of the GAO-r Rodrigo Cadete Structure.
According to the judicial order issued by the Prosecutor's Office 10 of Florencia, this individual was wanted for the crimes of homicide, aggravated homicide, association to commit aggravated crimes and manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possession of aggravated firearms.
The preliminary investigations indicate that this individual is allegedly linked to the attacks perpetrated against members of the National Police in the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá during this year, criminal acts that left four members of the Military Forces killed and five more injured.
In the same way, information obtained by military intelligence indicates that alias Templete would have participated in different criminal acts related to selective homicides, hitmen activities and acts of intimidation carried out by this illegal armed structure in the department of Caquetá.
In the same way, this individual would allegedly be involved in several homicides reported in the region, including the murder of a peace signer and, apparently, of some minors, facts that are the individual of investigation by the authorities.
According to the investigative file, this individual allegedly began his criminal activity in 2019, when he allegedly received orders from alias Tornillo to carry out homicides related to disputes over the control of local drug trafficking in Cartagena del Chairá. Subsequently, by the years 2023 and 2024, he allegedly strengthened his participation within the illicit organization along with other well-known members such as alias Mago, alias Niño, alias Enrique, alias Conejo and alias Vallenato, allegedly participating in criminal meetings, intimidation activities and armed acts against the inhabitants and the Military Forces.
The arrest of alias Templete represents an important result of the military operation for the Twelfth Brigade, because it directly affects the territorial control, hitmen and intimidation resources used by the GAO-r Rodrigo Cadete Structure to generate fear among the communities and sustain illicit activities in this region of the country.
In the same way, this result of the military operation contributes to the weakening of the criminal networks responsible for selective homicides and other violent acts that affect the security and stability of the department of Caquetá, reaffirming the institutional commitment to the protection of the inhabitants and the defense of life.
During the operation, the man was extracted by air support of Colombian National Army Aviation, to secure his safe transfer and later put into custody of the judicial authority to continue with the respective prosecution process.
