He demanded an extortive fee from farmers, ranchers, fish farmers, transport and commerce, in the municipalities of San Antonio, Roncesvalles, Rovira, Cajamarca, Valle de San Juan and villages of the city of Ibague.
At the village Tolda Vieja, in the municipality of Roncesvalles, soldiers of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Tolima, of the Sixth Brigade of Colombian National Army, reported the arrest of alias Arley or el Paisa, of the residual organized armed group Frente Joaquín González, who would be the second ringleader and head of finance.
A year ago, this individual was allegedly selected by the leader, alias Calarcá, in the department of Meta to cover up the illicit activities of alias Cancharino, who was killed during military operations.
Alias Arley or the Paisa collected 800 million pesos monthly, and had the directive given by the top ringleader of the GAO-r, alias Calarcá, to send 70% of this money to the department of the Meta, to strengthen the group, the financial muscle, purchase weapons, indoctrination and constraint of new members for the strengthening of the Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc.
This second ringleader who committed crimes in the southwest and center of Tolima had selected as a base area the villages of Santa Elena, La Morena, Tolda Vieja, Topacio and Playarrica, where he summoned the different productive groups to demand the payment of this extortion fee, some weekly and others monthly.
This individual was put into custody of the authority for the crime of association to commit crimes, illegal carrying of firearms, ammunition and extortion.
