The arrested individuals were the right-hand men of alias Chapolo, the ringleader of this GAO-r, who has been generating anxiety in the south of Tolima, with the installation of four gas cylinders and two trucks marked with the initials of the Ismael Ruiz, in front on the road to hinder military forces operations.
Soldiers of the Rapid Deployment Battalion No. 13, FUDRA No. 5, of the Sixth Brigade of Colombian National Army, in support of the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office, using search warrants, arrested alias el Negro and alias Avilés, individuals who were part of the terrorist support networks of the Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, frente Ismael Ruiz.
These two men, under the orders of alias Chapolo, ringleader of the substructure of this front in the south of Tolima, according to military intelligence information, are involved in the terrorist operations that took place the previous week in the municipalities of Rioblanco, Chaparral and San Antonio, where they planted gas cylinders that, although they were not loaded with explosives, did sow terror in the inhabitants. In addition, these individuals are involved in the detonation of explosives on the bridge that connects the municipality of Rioblanco with the village of Gaitán and Quebradón.
Through this operation, it was in the same way possible to find a fragmentation grenade, a short weapon, three long weapons, a traumatic pistol, bracelets alluding to the FARC-EP, communication radios, ammunition of different calibers and instruction manuals.
The individuals were put into custody of the authority, for the alleged crimes of association to commit crimes and manufacturing, trafficking or carrying firearms and ammunition.
This strategic result of the troops of the Sixth Brigade hits the activities that have been carried out by the ringleader of this substructure, since those arrested are residents of the area and had information about the criminal activities that they manage in the south of Tolima.
