In the operation, 2 rifles, a pistol, 3 magazines, ammunition and 2 motorcycles were seized, among other items that were planned to be used to commit a criminal action in the region.
Within the framework of military operations aimed at the protection of the inhabitants and the strategic resources of the nation, troops of the Tenth Brigade, of the First Division, held clashes with alleged members of an organized armed group, in the rural area of the municipality of Uribia, department of La Guajira Department.
During the operation, two alleged members of this criminal structure were injured, who received immediate assistance from combat nurses and, subsequently, were taken to a health care center for medical evaluation, in strict compliance with human rights and the provisions of international humanitarian law.
It was in the same way possible to confiscate 2 rifles, a pistol, 3 magazines, ammunition of different calibers, 2 motorcycles and a bulletproof vest, elements that allegedly would be used for criminal activities.
This important result of the military operation affects the logistical and armed resources of the criminal structures that commit crimes in this region of the country, while strengthening the security conditions in the region and contributing to neutralize possible criminal acts against the inhabitants and critical nation-buildings.
It is important to point out that one of those arrested stated to be a minor, so he was put into custody of the authorities. In the same way, the other arrested, along with the confiscated items, remains awaiting the completion of the respective judicial proceedings.
