In joint, coordinated and inter-agency military operations, conducted by troops of the Quirón Task Force, the Eighth Division, the National Police and the General Prosecutor's Office, heavy blows were dealt to the Organized Armed Groups, GAO, in the department of Arauca.

In the first operation, thanks to information received of the community, it was possible to capture alias 'La Mona', alleged member of the Omaira Montoya Henao Group of the ELN, who apparently would have participated in the event where a Soldier was injured in the municipality of Fortul, last February 21. The woman had an arrest warrant for the crimes of rebellion and conspiracy to commit crimes.

In the second operation, through intelligence work, the capture of Mr. Postalión Cortez, Venezuelan nationality, accused of the crime of trademark falsehood, was achieved. According to intelligence reports, this man was in charge of transporting the vehicles and motorcycles that were stolen in the municipality of Saravena, whose plates and colors were changed to be used in extortion activities.

In the third operation, the capture of Reinol Rugelis Peña, was possible. This individual had an arrest warrant for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying of weapons and ammunition of exclusive use of the Military Forces. In the same way, he served as support for the collection of money from extortions made against merchants in Saravena. At the time of his capture he was found with a revolver, a cartridge and nine packs of rifle powder.

The three people captured in the municipality of Fortul and Saravena, were put into custody of the authorities to continue with their judicial process.
