Colombian National Army destroyed 19 explosive devices and seized 1.5 tons of cocaine in department of Cesar

Ejército Nacional destruyó 19 artefactos explosivos e incautó 1.5 toneladas de cocaína en Cesar

These explosive charges would be triggered to attack the troops in the department.

Troops of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats, CONAT, in coordination with the National Police, destroyed in the last few hours 19 improvised explosive devices hidden in a conditioned coca-growing complex in the village of Manizales Alto, in La Jagua de Ibirico, department of Cesar.

During the operation, the troops of the Brigade Against Drug Trafficking No. 2 found a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory that belonged to the organized armed group GAO ELN, Camilo Torres Restrepo Front. In the search carried out to this clandestine construction, distributed in 3 structures, the 19 explosive devices were found by troops, in addition to 1540 kg of cocaine hydrochloride and 1295 gallons in suspension.

It was possible to establish, through military intelligence work, that these improvised explosive charges, due to their characteristics, would be launched by launching pads against the troops that permanently carry out operations in this area of the country.

Through this military action, the illegal activities of the ELN were hit again, in 12,275 million pesos. In the same way, the circulation of 1,540,000 doses of the drug was prevented in Central America and Europe.
