Within the framework of military operations, the Twenty-Seventh Brigade, with its battalions, has carried out actions against drug trafficking in the department of Putumayo, with important results such as the destruction of illegal constructions for the production of coca paste base, the arrest of alleged members of criminal structures and the confiscation of precursors used for the production of narcotics.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, the troops in the region aim to weaken the finances of the residual organized armed groups that commit crimes in this department. As a result of these actions, during the second week of March, powerful blows were reported against these illicit activities.
This is how troops found and destroyed 35 improvised structures of laboratories that were used for the production of coca base paste and 5 illegal hiding places in which they stored supplies for this purpose. These constructions were found by troops in rural areas of the municipalities of Villagarzón, Puerto Asís, Puerto Guzmán, Orito, Puerto Leguízamo and Puerto Caicedo, department of Putumayo.
In these places, 2828 kilograms of solid precursors and 10,846 gallons of liquid precursors were in the same way found and destroyed in controlled conditions, in addition to 5320 kilograms of coca leaf and 4126 gallons of coca base in process, elements used for the production of narcotics.
Similarly, in the synergy of the military operation, it was possible to arrest three alleged members of organized crime groups and two more of the residual organized armed group Estructura Comandos de Frontera, who were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office.
In the same way, the troops reported during this period the destruction of an illegal mining production unit belonging to the residual organized armed group Carolina Ramirez Structure, in the village of Las Delicias, municipality of Puerto Leguizamo, in this operation, troops seized 3.1 kilograms of coca base paste and the elimination of an explosive device was carried out, contributing to safeguarding the safety of the inhabitants.
Additionally, an illegal valve used for the illicit extraction of fuels was found and destroyed, an element that generated serious effects on the environment and natural resources of the region.
Through these results, Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to continue carrying out military operations that weaken the structures outlaw that commit crimes in the south of the country, contributing to the security of the inhabitants and the protection of the environment.
