Within the framework of military operations against illicit activities, soldiers of the 30th Artillery Battalion, in coordination with the SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) and the Anti-Narcotics Directorate, carried out the finding and destruction of a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory in the village of San Miguel de Encerraderos, a rural area of the municipality of Sardinata.
In the place it was possible to find an illegal construction made of four constructions at the service of illicit drug trafficking activities, with possible links to the Juan Fernando Porras Martínez front of the organized armed group, GAO, ELN.
During the operation, 1028 kilograms of solid cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops, as well as 280 gallons of cocaine hydrochloride in suspension and 40 gallons of coca base in solution. In the same way, 2404 gallons of liquid chemicals were seized, including 2379 gallons of N-propyl acetate and 25 gallons of hydrochloric acid.
330 kilograms of solid chemical substances were in the same way found at the site, represented by 300 kilograms of caustic soda and 30 kilograms of activated charcoal, precursors used for the production of the narcotic.
Through this result of the military operation, a direct loss to the finances of the specialized drug trafficking structures was possible, with an economic loss estimated at more than 6881 million pesos, in addition to preventing the commercialization of approximately 2,450,000 doses of cocaine in illegal markets.
