Within the framework of military operations carried out by troops of the Rapid Deployment Battalion No. 33, of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 11, of the Colombian National Army, and with the support of the National Police, a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory belonging to the residual organized armed group Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc, in a rural area of the municipality of San José del Guaviare, was dismantled.
The military operation, carried out in the village of El Rosal, leads to the destruction of 329 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, as well as a large amount of solid and liquid precursors used for the production of narcotics.
According to preliminary information, this illicit complex would have a monthly production capacity close to 2.5 tons of cocaine hydrochloride, equivalent to an approximate cost of 3,652 million pesos.
Through this result, Colombian National Army will significantly damage the criminal finances of this illegal armed structure of the GAO-r Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc, under the criminal direction of its ringleader, alias Calarcá. In the same way, the commercialization of millions of doses of narcotics is stopped and the illicit activities that finance terrorist acts and criminal activities against the inhabitants and the Military Forces in the Colombian southeast are weakened.
These operations are specially relevant in the framework of the elections that will be held on May 31, and which already have coverage of the military operation of the troops of the Omega Task Force, with the purpose of working for the necessary security conditions for rural communities to exercise, with full confidence and freedom, their right to vote.
