Approximately 500 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride, ready to be shipped abroad, were found by troops at the scene.
Within the framework of military operations conducted by Colombian National Army, in a coordinated and inter-institutional manner with the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, it was neutralized the threat of a place that served as a laboratory for the production of cocaine.
The operation carried out in the rural area of the municipality of Orocué, Casanare, led to the finding of an improvised clandestine construction in which, apparently, these drug trafficking networks kept hidden the elements used for the creation and production of cocaine hydrochloride.
The troops of the 16th Brigade of Colombian National Army found about 500 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride ready to be shipped, possibly to Europe, more than 575 kilos of solid precursors, about 3,800 gallons of liquid precursors, as well as 264 gallons of liquid cocaine hydrochloride in process, 132 gallons of cocaine base in production, 1 distillation tower, 5 microwave ovens, 2 power generators, a motor pump, a press, a dryer, food and accommodation facilities with the capacity to accommodate 20 people.
The items found in this laboratory were destroyed by the members of the Military Forces in controlled conditions complying with all security protocols.
Through this important result, it was possible to significantly hit the logistical, criminal and illicit finance capacity of these drug trafficking networks, preventing the marketing to European countries which means that more than 26 million euros, as well as the trafficking and distribution of 1.2 million doses in criminal markets for international consumption, were thwarted.
