Two arrests, and the confiscation of war material, military accessories and important value documentation were the result of this operation.
After stability work framed in the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, due to events related to armed presence, extortion and kidnapping that were occurring in the municipalities of Mesetas, Uribe and Lejanías, of the Meta department, Colombian National Army in support and accompaniment to the Elite Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police, went to make the arrest of alias Caliche, ringleader of the Ever Castro structure, of the Jorge Suárez Briceño Bloc.
Troops arrived at the village of Caño Paujil, in the municipality of Uribe, where soldiers of the Omega Task Force confronted members of this structure, who, upon noticing the activity of the troops, began shooting from a house.
This military operation, where the Colombian Aerospace Force sent a helicopter to support the military units that were on the ground, resulted in two arrests, who would be members of this Structure; one person was wounded, and one short-range firearm, 2 shotguns, 750 cartridges for long-range weapon, 29 cartridges for short-range firearm, 7 magazines, 5 campaign equipment, military accessories material for exclusive use by the Military Forces, communications material, technological equipment, extortion receipts and documentation with important information, were found.
The person who was injured and the two arrested were evacuated of the scene by air to San José del Guaviare, where they received medical assistance and were put into custody of the authorities.
After the firefight and the aerial evacuation, the inhabitants, used by the illegal armed groups, arrived at the place to stop the troops and take away the found vehicles and the rest of the personnel who were in the house.
