Troops of the Light Cavalry Group N.° 9, added to the operation of the Eleventh Brigade and the Marte Explosive Devices Handling Group of Colombian National Army, neutralized a terrorist action after destroying in a controlled conditions 2 explosive devices planted by alleged members of the residual organized armed group, GAOr, Structure 36, on the Western Trunk, near the village of La Paulina of the municipality of Valdivia, department of Antioquia.
According to what was reported, three individuals traveling on a motorcycle carrying longrifles held a tractor trailer-type vehicle, which apparently contained flammable elements, in order to block the road and find two gas cylinders, apparently loaded with explosives. In a timely manner, the troops carried out the security deployment and recovered the vehicle that was obstructing traffic. In the same way, accompaniment was provided to 41 people who were traveling in a collective passenger transport vehicle when the events were reported.
Subsequently, the soldiers experts in handling explosives carried out the revision of the cylinders, and carried out the controlled destruction of them, contributing to the restoration of mobility for the transporters and communities in the area.
