The war elements represented a threat to the security and tranquility of the inhabitants of the department.
Within the framework of military operations and in compliance with the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops of the Mountain Battalion No. 6 Major Robinson Daniel Ruiz, of the Second Brigade, fought against alleged members of the organized armed group Conquistadores de la Sierra Nevada Self-defense Forces, in the village of El Mirador, municipality of Ciénaga, department of Magdalena.
During the military operation, the soldiers recovered the following items: 1,396 cartridges of different calibers, a pistol, 21 rudimentary grenades adapted for drone, 3 rudimentary grenades, one kilo of black powder, a balloon bomb-type device, 3 shotguns, 13 magazines, 9 camouflage fabric, 2 multipurpose vests, uniforms for exclusive use of the Military Forces, as well as elements of military accessories.
This result of the military operation directly contributes to weakening the armed and logistical resources of the illegal groups that hit security in this region of the country, reaffirming the commitment of Colombian National Army to protecting the life, integrity and well-being of the communities.
The Colombian National Army will continue to carry out sustained operations in the department of Magdalena, in coordination with the other authorities, with the firm purpose of working to increase conditions of security, stability and peaceful coexistence for the inhabitants.
