Through this result, the Organized Armed Group, Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz Structure, will no longer receive more than 4,000 million pesos, product of this illicit economy.
Within the framework of military operations of control and institutional presence conducted in compliance with the Ayacucho Plus Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, Colombian National Army, in coordination with the National Police, found more than 1.3 tons of marijuana that were destined to be sent to other countries.
The first operation was carried out in the village Potrerito, in the municipality of Torib铆o, Cauca. Troops of the Ground Operations Battalion No. 12, of the Twenty-Ninth Brigade, in coordination with personnel of the Anti-Narcotics Police, found and destroyed in controlled conditions a marijuana drying shed. In this operation it was possible to find and destroy 827 kilograms of creepy-type marijuana. In addition, the storage facility and a dryer were destroyed, material that would cost more than 80 million pesos.
In the same way, in the second military operation carried out at kilometer 87 of the Pan American Highway, in the municipality of Rosas, in a checkpoint a Piaggio-type vehicle was checked, in which several sacks were found by troops, and due to the analysis of the contents by the National Police, it was determined that it was 534,423 kilograms of marijuana.
During this operation, the troops in the same way report the arrest of the individual who was transporting the narcotic, as well as the immobilization of the vehicle. Both the material and the arrested were put into custody of the authorities.
Through these results of the military operation, Colombian National Army significantly and strategically hits the illegal drug trafficking finances belonging to the GAO-r Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz Structure, of the FARC dissidents, hitting their logistical and criminal structures in the south of the country.
So far this year, more than 1.9 tons of drugs have already been found in the department of Cauca. For this reason, the authorities have intensified the efforts of the military operation by land, river and air, to continue with the confiscation of these shipments.
