Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Operations Plan, troops of the First Brigade of Colombian National Army continue to carry out sustained military operations with the aim of countering the acts of criminal organizations and organized armed groups, and work to increase the security of the inhabitants.
As part of these acts, units of the Field Artillery Battalion No. 1 Tarqui found explosive elements in the village of El Salitre, a rural area of the municipality of Labranzagrande, department of Boyacá. During the operation, four barrels were found by troops containing approximately 100 kilograms of a substance with characteristics similar to ANFO, a high destructive explosive.
Immediately, the troops activated the established security protocols, securing the area and protecting the integrity of military personnel and the people of the sector, thus preventing possible effects on the lives and property of the inhabitants of the region.
Subsequently, the explosive element was destroyed in controlled conditions, with the support of specialized personnel, completely neutralizing the risk it retained.
Through this result of the military operation, the First Brigade of Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to the defense of life, security and tranquility of the Boyacá people, and continues to carry out permanent military operations to strengthen stability and order in the territory.
