More than 25,000 inhabitants of the municipality of Rioblanco can now travel quietly to the village of Puerto Saldaña.
Thanks to the expertise of the trained dog of the soldiers of the Infantry Battalion Nº 17 General Domingo Caicedo, of the Sixth Brigade of Colombian National Army, on the road that connects the municipality of Rioblanco with the village of Puerto Saldaña, they found a 60-kilo gas cylinder weaponized with explosives, belonging to the GAO-r Frente Ismael Ruiz. This military action was carried out in coordination with the Anti-Explosives and Anti-Terrorism Unit of the National Police, under the direction of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office 164 Against Criminal Organizations and the Aerospace Force.
After a coordinated review conducted by the EXDE group and explosives technicians, the gas cylinder with command cable initiation means and approximately 250 grams of pentolite was destroyed in controlled conditions.
According to information, this device was ready to be activated against the soldiers who carry out search and control over the area.
The inhabitants are invited to report to the authorities and inform the troops of Colombian National Army, through line 107, these acts that not only hit the soldiers, but without any distinction hit the inhabitants and violate IHL.
This action that planned to generate anxiety in the south of Tolima is attributed to alias Chapolo, ringleader of this residual organized armed group and for whom a reward of up to 200 million pesos is offered.
