The troops are intensifying the search and review efforts in the sector, in order to neutralize any threat that puts the safety of the inhabitants at risk.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, soldiers of the Airborne Infantry Battalion No. 31 Rifles, attached to the Eleventh Brigade, carried out the finding and controlled destruction of two improvised explosive devices in a rural area of Valdivia, Antioquia, allegedly belonging to the Heroes de Tarazá group, of the organized armed group ELN.
The first finding was reported in the Raudal Viejo sector, where the troops found a balloon-type explosive, which failed to detonate due to being thrown by members of this group outlaw.
In the same way, in the framework of military operations conducted in the village of Raudal, a cylinder-type explosive was found, along with a device conditioned as a ramp for the launch of these devices.
These explosive elements would have the objective of limiting the progress of the troops carrying out important operations in the region, and, in addition, they would represent a latent threat to the inhabitants who reside and transit through the area, putting their security and their lives at risk.
Once the material was found, soldiers experts in explosives and demolitions carried out its controlled destruction.
Through these terrorist operations, which blatantly attack human rights and violate international humanitarian law, the GAO ELN would seek to intimidate and exert restraint on nearby communities, as well as to hit members of the Military Forces.
