Within the framework of military operations, troops of the Urban Special Forces Battalion No. 4 and the Combat Engineers Battalion No. 7, in coordination with the National Police, found an illegal weapons hideout in the Alto Yucao village, rural area of Puerto López, department of Meta.
According to military intelligence information, this material would belong to the residual organized armed group Substructura Martín Villa. 5 long rifles were found by troops at the scene, including 2 Galil 5.56 mm caliber rifles, an M4 rifle, a rifle with a 30 mm magazine and a shotgun with a magazine.
In the same way, 4 handguns, 2 CZ pistols, a Glock and a Jericho were found by troops. During the operation, 3 5.56mm caliber magazines, 3 9 mm caliber pistol magazines and a hand grenade were in the same way found.
Through this result, the criminal operations of this illegal structure are directly hit, by neutralizing part of its war capacity and thus preventing it from being used against the inhabitants and the Military Forces.
