Colombian National Army hits the illicit finances of armed groups by 21,239 million pesos

Ejército Nacional afectó en 21.239 millones

This result is represented in the destruction of three coca-growing complexes and the seizure of more than 4.5 tons of cocaine.

With the elimination of these megalaboratories of the ELN and the GAO-r, the illicit activities of these criminal organizations that commit crimes in Tumaco, Nariño department, are hit.

Troops of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats, CONAT, jointly and coordinated with the Colombian Aerospace Force and the National Police, found and destroyed in controlled conditions, in the center and south of the country, two laboratories for the production of illicit substances, with a monthly capacity of producing 4.5 tons of drugs.

The first military action is carried out by soldiers of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Brigade No. 2, in the village of Villa Sucre, municipality of Arboledas, department of Norte de Santander, who reported  finding a coca-growing complex made of three structures belonging to the GAO ELN, Efrain Pabon Pabon Front.

822 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were seized at the site; 428 kilograms of solid supplies and 2784 gallons of liquid components; in addition to equipment and machinery necessary in the preparation of narcotics.

Meanwhile, in the village of Peña de los Ángeles, in San Andrés de Tumaco, troops of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Brigade No. 1 found an illegal construction that would be part of the illicit finances of the GAO-r Structura Iván Ríos. There troops found 725 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 2350 gallons of cocaine in suspension, 2750 gallons of coca base in suspension, 1425 gallons of elements such as DIESEL and gasoline, and 275 kilograms of solid substances.

Through military intelligence information, it was found that the drugs produced in these departments were taken out of the country through areas of the border with Venezuela, where they were then transported to Lake Maracaibo bound for Central America and the United States.

With the execution of these two military operations, the finances resulting of the drug trafficking of the ELN and the GAO-r are hit again in 21,239 million pesos; in the same way, the circulation of 1,547,000 doses of drugs is stopped.

Similarly, there is evidence of a strategic blow to the illicit activities of the GAO-r, since in less than five days CONAT troops seized in the same sector of the Peña de los Ángeles village, of San Andrés de Tumaco, department of Nariño, 2906 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, which would belong to this armed group, would cost 46,846 million pesos.
