The soldiers of the Infantry Battalion N°22 Batalla de Ayacucho work to contribute to the planet and give life to the environment. Together with Corpocaldas, Econet and the Mayor's Office of Neira, a reforestation of 2,000 trees was carried out, of which 1,200 were from the nursery of the Military Unit.
Chachafruto and Yellow Guayacan were the trees that were planted on the village, giving hope and life to this place. The goal for the end of the year is 24,000 trees.
The coffee growers women recognized the operation of the soldiers, stating in this regard: “The accompaniment we have had through Colombian National Army has been excellent, first the welcome they gave us in the Battalion and now with the accompaniment on the village. The idea is to continue working together," said Paola Campuzano Londoño, president of the Participatory Council of Coffee Growers Women Alma Verde.
These ambassadors of the department of Caldas were at the Unit's facilities, learning about the process that is carried out with the trees in the nursery, as well as their history and a little more about how soldiers serve.
