These devices, prohibited by human rights and international humanitarian law, had been allegedly planted by members of the residual organized armed group Structura Primera Armando Ríos, of the Amazonas Bloc, led by alias Iván Mordisco.
Within the framework of military operations aimed at protecting the inhabitants and preserving security in the Colombian southeast, troops of the Rapid Deployment Battalion N.° 33, of the Rapid Deployment Force N.° 11 of Colombian National Army, reported the finding and controlled destruction of two improvised explosive devices in the village Las Juntas, municipality of Calamar, department of Guaviare.
The operation was possible thanks to the permanent work of the troops on the ground and the use of specialized search and threat detection resources, which managed to identify these explosive elements before any damage against the inhabitants or the Military Forces.
According to preliminary information, the devices would belong to the residual organized armed group Structura Primera Armando Ríos, of the Amazonas Bloc, a member of the faction led by alias Iván Mordisco.
During the procedure, other elements associated with its use were in the same way destroyed, including a rudimentary cylindrical container and three means of launching.
The elimination of these explosive devices represents a loss to the terrorist resources of this illicit structure and contributes to the strengthening of security conditions for rural communities and people who transit through this sector of the department of Guaviare.
