Colombian National Army neutralizes potential terrorist operations in the south of Cesar

Ejército Nacional neutraliza posibles acciones terroristas en el sur del Cesar

The rudimentary - made explosive devices had been planned to be used by armed groups that commit crimes in the region.

In a quick reaction and through intelligence information, troops of the Fifth Brigade neutralized a potential terrorist operation, with the finding of a hideout containing 82 rudimentary 60-millimeter grenades.

The events were reported in the Aguas Blancas village, of the municipality of Río de Oro, Cesar, where soldiers of the Infantry Battalion Nº 14 Capitan Antonio Ricaurte found the explosives in the middle of a wooded area, covered with leaves and plastics, on a tertiary road by which civilians and cattle transit.

These devices would belong to illegal armed groups and apparently would have been planned to be activated to attack troops or people in general, given that they have a damage range of about 3000 meters.

Experts in explosives and demolitions, conducted the work of controlled destruction of the charges, preventing blows against the inhabitants, Military Forces, and even State constructions.
